Suntech Palm Oil Limited to search research and develop international standard biodiesel

Introduction

Due to the energy situation of Thailand and relation situations occurring in this World, it was found that the oil price at present has gone up much more than the past, thus there is the thought of “Replacement Energy” to compensate the limited oil from aboard, also to promote the local economy. This is the outcome of “Biodiesel” which can replace diesel oil as an energy source. In 2000, thanks to the help of the king Bhumipol, he has initiated the king’s project at Chilada Garden to research and produce “Biodiesel”, This has stimulated both the government and private sectors to pay attention to “Biodiesel”.
The Suntech Palm Oil Co Ltd., has constructed a standard plant to produce biodiesel in 2006 at Kabinburi Industrial Compound Prachinburi province in response to the government policy about replacement energy and to promote agricultural sector of Thailand.

Definition of Biodiesel
Biodiesel means the energy that obtains from cycling resource such as oil from plant or animal by chemical process called “Transesterification”. The oil from plant or animal will react with alcohol and obtain methyl ester or “Biodiesel”

The policy of Suntech Palm Oil Limited Company is to search research and develop the production and control standard to achieve international Biodiesel products.
